14+ years . . . have come to an end
a lot of factors led to the end of HAVAK. its successes and failures were multifaceted — costs, customers, social media, originality, sourcing, trends, vendors, and more. but ultimately, it came down to choices i made, personally and professionally.
from the beginning, the goal was to bring something different to the table. whether HAVAK achieved that goal is open to interpretation. but pursuing different can come at a cost — depletion, disillusionment, and, for those who struggle, deepening depression.
so, as of this moment, i’m done.
HAVAK is done.
i’m turning my energy elsewhere. toward my grief work, toward finding peace, and toward giving my kokoleka the best life i can.
to everyone who supported HAVAK along the way, mahalo nui loa.
